CHAPTER FIVE:
THE FINAL CHAPTER
IN THE BOOK
OF FIVE RINGS

This is not because they’ve been defeated, but because they’ve learned to stop fighting themselves. That’s what Void represents. Not the absence of form. But the presence of everything that cannot be seen, measured, or touched. It’s the unseen. The stillness. The source.

And this is where our journey and Tu Lam’s comes to rest.

THE ART OF RETURNING

THE ART OF RETURNING

For over a year, the Strictly x Ronin collaboration has carved out a mythological path through the Five Elements — Fire, Water, Earth, Wind with each chapter anchoring to a moment in Tu Lam’s personal and professional evolution and journey.

From Green Beret to icon. From soldier to teacher. From war to wisdom.

But Void is not a destination. It is a return and the journey home, not to where it all began, but to where it all made sense.

WHAT EACH ELEMENT TAUGHT HIM

WHAT EACH ELEMENT TAUGHT HIM

Tu's story is not told through the battles he fought, but through the elements that forged his inner code.

Fire taught him how to survive. It forged him in the intensity of combat, shaped him through discipline, fear, aggression, and the need for clarity when chaos surrounded him. In those early years, fire was the way forward and even if it left scars.

Water taught him how to adapt. Life after combat meant shifting form, learning new languages, cultures, mindsets and becoming fluid in a world that didn't speak in commands and strategies. Water washed away the hard edges. It didn't make him soft. It made him agile.

Earth taught him grounding. Loyalty, service, honour. It gave him roots, responsibilities, and rhythm. It reminded him that strength isn't just physical but the ability to carry weight, the weight of others, of purpose, of one's word whilst remaining unshaken.

Wind taught him freedom. Not the recklessness of running, but the clarity of movement. Wind unlearned what Fire had etched in stone. It allowed Tu to choose new paths, to move in silence, to act without attachment and to speak without needing to be heard.

Each chapter in this collaboration was a moment of reckoning and a ritual. A piece of Tu's transformation that's now etched into art. And for those who have been paying attention, it was never about the design but about the story the design unlocked.

MUSASHI'S CAVE:
A RETURN TO SELF

MUSASHI'S CAVE:
A RETURN TO SELF

In this final painting, Tu isn't dressed in armour or holding a weapon. He isn't performing for anyone. He is simply present. A prayer in motion. A breath held in eternity.

This artwork is set in the cave of Miyamoto Musashi, the legendary ronin who, after a life of duels and destruction, retreated into silence to write The Book of Five Rings, a manual for warriors, artists, and thinkers alike.

For Tu, the cave is not just symbolic. It's sacred.

It is the place where the path comes full circle.
The warrior, now a teacher.
The chaos, now peace.
The fight, now still.

Inside the swirling blackness, a cosmic pulse and glow behind him, like stars being born. Like the first inhale of a universe that's just beginning to breathe. The textures feel infinite. The darkness that isn't absence but now potential.

And right there, at the centre, sits a man who has lived enough, fought enough, and lost enough to finally be still.

THIS WAS NEVER ABOUT THE HYPE

THIS WAS NEVER ABOUT THE HYPE

Strictly has never moved like other brands and this collaboration proves it.

Five limited artworks with one story told in silence and symbolism. Each piece crafted not for the likes, but instead for the legacy.

This wasn't ever just a product drop to us but a process of honouring Tu Lam's and his past while giving the world a new language to understand the Ronin's path.

From Fire to Void, you’ve witnessed more than a campaign. You’ve walked beside a man who walked away from the military machine, not because he was broken, but because he had more to give.

BUT THE STORY LIVES ON

This might be the end of the Five Elements journey, but it’s certainly not the end of the code.

What began as collaboration is now mythology and like all real mythology, it doesn’t end, it echoes.

For those who own a piece of this story it’s important you know this: you hold more than art. You hold the proof that evolution is possible. That violence can give way to wisdom and that silence is not weakness, but power. And that stillness is not an end, it’s a new beginning.
